Selfie

I hate drawing self portraits.
There are so many more interesting things to draw than my face.

(I did this for an impending show, you'll see why)

y'all have a safe and happy new years

Dead Dog Cafe

Hello!
This is a little papercut (4x6") I made for my Grandpa for Christmas this year. We both used to listen to the Dead Dog cafe radio show on the CBC. This was the sign off.

Cheers

Buffalo in a Bottle

Hello!
I hope your last days of Decemeber 2012 are going well.
I wanted to share a little creature in a bottle I made the other day. The bottle is about 5" tall with a little wooden stopper. The little paper fellow is bristol and watercolour.

I'll collect the names from the all the likes. You will only be entered in the draw once.

And I'll draw the draw on new years! January 1st 2012.

Until Next Time

So, as most who know me know, I got to art school. This semester I focused on making artist books. The first was this little bird, and the second was this box I call Heirloom. I mostly just call it a box.
This piece is constructed out of paper and decorated with ink, water colour, and gouache.
I hope to film both of these books in full pop-up action within the next few months, so keep a heads up.
cheers & enjoy!

EDIT
Thank you everyone! I am very glad that this piece has amused many people. I am hugely flattered by peoples kind comments and offers to buy this piece. Unfortunately, it is not currently available for purchase. It had a home before I posted the pictures.
However, I do plan to video document all of my pop up books so that everyone can view them.
Thanks again

And finally, fully assembled:

Thanks!

The semester is just starting to wrap up, so I thought I'd share a piece I just documented. I hope to eventually make a movie of this piece being "read". But for now, detail shots of Little One:

Big Fan

So it was my friend M's birthday and he's a big fan of Adventure time and of manticores, so obviously this is what I made him for his birthday:

And a huge THANK YOU to everyone who attended/contributed to Canzine West! I was next to a neat author and really nice guy, A.G. Pasquella who wrote a really nice wrap up post of Canzine on his  blog

Cheers!
