SpecialSpecialSpecial

So

I can't believe I haven't mentioned this yet.

This Fall I got to do something really excellent-  collaborate with Von Zos, the talented publisher of artist multiples, on a very special project:

The Way Back

The piece consists of a complex, three-dimensional, free-standing statuary constructed from individual pieces of printed 24 pt cardstock. The piece is precision laser-cut and stands approximately five inches tall by seven inches wide when fully assembled.

The pieces come housed in a custom-made foam enclosure within a box which itself is an extension of the free-standing piece as the box’s exterior artwork echoes the art and themes of the statuary inside.

Additionally, each piece comes with a specially produced wishbone charm.

The Way Back is produced in a limited edition of 20 and is signed and numbered by the artist.

For more details and to order you very own, visit Von Zos at http://www.landofzos.com

Water-soluble Graphite

Graphite
5"x7"
ink, water-soluable graphite, gouache
2013

So yesterday I picked up some water-soluble graphite pencils and OH MY WORD. Painting with graphite is THE BEST. It's so smooth and blends so easily.
It's also got the greasy shiny/sparkly niceness of graphite
I tried to take a picture to show this:
(so niiice)

Fun fact: this drawing started as a warm up for the drawing I planned to do last night, but then I reaaaally into the graphite. And I missed the tattoo convention.
Part of the reason I got into such a groove was WOODKID's The Golden Age. It's SO GOOD. I nearly titled this drawing, "WOODKID'S LATEST ALBUM IS GREAT". True story.

Time Travel

Hey there!
I've been working on lots of secret projects lately so I haven't had much to share.
But then I found this.
I painted this when I was eleven years old.
My parents are/were wonderful and put me in after school art classes where I painted this. Now that I work at an art supply store I now realize that I was painting pictures of dragons, puppies, and pokemon, on what were probably $5 little chunks of paper. Follow your dreams.
Thanks Mom and Dad
